Job Description – Care Assistant
Location: Peregrine House Care Home
Reports to: Registered Manager – Joe Bowman
Hours: Full time, working a rolling rota (including alternate weekends)
Pay: Competitive, with enhancements for overtime and extra shifts

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Care Assistant, you will be at the heart of our home. You will support residents with daily living, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, valued, and respected. We’re looking for people who bring a smile to shift, who notice the small details, and who want to make a genuine difference in the lives of others.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver high-quality, person-centred care to residents in line with individual care plans.
• Support with personal care, mobility, nutrition, and hydration.
• Promote dignity, independence, and choice in every interaction.
• Build strong, compassionate relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.
• Respond to residents’ needs promptly and appropriately, using initiative and empathy.
• Contribute to a positive, homely atmosphere through kindness, respect, and teamwork.
• Follow safeguarding, infection control, and health & safety policies to keep everyone safe.
• Record and report accurately on residents’ wellbeing and changes in condition.
• Participate in activities, events, and daily life at Peregrine House to help create joy and meaning for residents.
