JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to residents in a care home setting. This position requires effective communication skills, the ability to follow care plans, and a commitment to enhancing the well-being of those in our care.

SKILLS

  • Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to drive is preferred for transporting residents when needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with residents and their families.
  • Proficient IT skills for maintaining records and documentation related to care plans.
  • Understanding of how to implement care plans effectively and compassionately.

Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
  • Support residents in maintaining their independence while ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
  • Follow individual care plans and report any changes in residents’ health or behaviour to the nursing staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and assist in the administration of medication as required.
  • Participate in training sessions and staff meetings to enhance skills and knowledge related to care practices.
  • Drive residents to appointments or activities as necessary, ensuring their safety during transport.
