OVERVIEW

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to individuals in both care home and home care settings. This position requires strong communication skills, a commitment to patient welfare, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals. A valid driving licence is preferred for this role, as it may involve travel between locations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
• Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with residents, families, and colleagues.
• A valid driving licence is preferred for travel between care locations.
• Basic IT skills are necessary for maintaining records and communicating within the team.
• A compassionate attitude towards caring for others is paramount, along with the ability to work well under pressure.

• Assist residents and clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
• Support the implementation of care plans tailored to individual needs and preferences.
• Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes in health status to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents and clients, ensuring all health and safety regulations are adhered to.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a positive atmosphere within the care home or during home visits.
• Utilise IT systems for documentation of care activities and communication with team members effectively.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
