Responsibilities

Fox Wood School has an exciting opportunity available for a health care assistant who would enjoy working within a school setting with children and young people with additional needs.
Ideally this post would suit a person with a level 2 qualification in health, education or child care, and previous experience of working with children with medical and special needs.
We have a permanent 8.30am – 3.30pm, term time only, post available for a health care assistant with experience of working with children with special needs, who can work well in a team and is committed to the wellbeing of children.
The post holder will have the ability to assess a situation and act appropriately; to communicate well verbally and in writing; to implement previous learning into practice; to demonstrate reflective practice and to be organised and self-motivated with excellent interpersonal skills, working as part of a special school class team.
Basic IT skills are also required to ensure the records are updated in an accurate and timely manner.
Previous experience in clinical care is desirable, as the post holder will be hands on providing gastrostomy feeds, as the children and young people have complex medical needs and/or life limiting conditions.
Full training will be given to the successful candidate by Bridgewater NHS Health Professionals who support our pupils and staff across school.
