We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health Services Administrative Officer to join our community-focused medical clinic in Winnipeg, MB. This role is designed to support our existing Clinic Manager in the day-to-day administrative operations of the clinic, with a special focus on services related to patient care in geriatric and Arabic-speaking communities. The successful candidate will work closely with the Clinic Manager, medical staff, and allied health providers to ensure high-quality, inclusive, and efficient healthcare delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Clinic Manager in overseeing the daily administrative operations of the clinic
- Assist in coordinating services and preventive healthcare initiatives for geriatric patients, including scheduling, follow-ups, care plan logistics, immunization drives, chronic disease screenings, and memory and cognitive health assessments
- Facilitate communication and care coordination for Arabic-speaking patients, including medical interpretation support
- Coordinate referrals to home care, occupational therapy, mental health services, and other allied health or community support providers
- Plan and implement public health campaigns focused on education and awareness, particularly for newcomers and underserved communities
- Provide administrative support in managing clinic supplies, scheduling staff meetings, and maintaining compliance documentation
- Uphold patient confidentiality and compliance with clinic policies and healthcare regulations
- Ensure culturally sensitive communication and care for diverse populations
- Assist with data entry, reporting, and document preparation related to patient care and clinic administration
- Contribute to the development and implementation of administrative processes that support medical workflows and patient care
- Monitor patient satisfaction metrics and help develop strategies for improving patient experience
Qualifications:
- A degree in a relevant health discipline is required, along with a strong foundation in medical terminology and clinical language to ensure effective communication in a healthcare setting.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a patient care setting, with at least 3 years in geriatric care.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with patients, staff, and external service providers.
- Fluency in Arabic, both spoken and written, is a valuable asset for effectively serving our large Arabic-speaking patient population.
- Working knowledge of computer software programs, i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and email required.
- Culturally sensitive and respectful of diverse patient populations
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Demonstrated professional judgment and initiative.
- Familiarity with community health systems and auxiliary services in Manitoba is preferred.
Reporting Structure:
The Health Care planner will report directly to the Clinic Manager and work closely with physicians, clinic staff, and allied health professionals.

Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 37 per week
