THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 3 YEARS DUE TO SECONDMENT
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, compassionate and dedicated Health Care Support Worker to join the multi-disciplinary Diabetes Team based at the Hummingbird Centre.
You will work alongside the Diabetes Specialist Nurses, Diabetes Specialist Dietician, Podiatrists and Consultants in a busy outpatient department supporting the needs of patients with Diabetes and Endocrine conditions.
We are looking for an individual who is driven to working in collaboration with patients, carers and other services to deliver individual, holistic and patient centred care.
We are looking for a Health Care Support worker to join our Diabetes team at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital. The post holder will be working as part of a dynamic, innovative, evolving service which provides the highest level of support and care for patients/clients within the RCT area.
The post holder will work as part of the Hummingbird team, under the supervision of registered nurses and support them and other health care professionals by participating in the delivery of assigned tasks involving direct and indirect care for the benefit of the person with diabetes
The post holder will be expected to be self-motivated and use their initiative when necessary. The range of responsibilities will be in support of and supervised by a registered nurse in diabetes and will involve rotation as appropriate to the needs of the service
The post holder will also have reception and clerical duties which will support the smooth and efficient running of the unit
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn’t need to have skills in Welsh, we’ll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. The post holder will also have reception and clerical duties which will support the smooth and efficient running of the unit.
The post holder will be responsible for the organisation of their own workload including clinical, clerical and reception duties on a daily basis, ensuring effective use of all resources available
