INTRODUCTION

Holt Medical Practice is a large practice with over 14,700 patients, 6 GP Partners, a mix of salaried GP’s, Nurse Practitioners, Paramedics, Physician Associates, Nurses, HCA’s, a physiotherapist, and social prescribers. Although busy, we are a relaxed, hard-working, welcoming and harmonious Practice. We operate from two separate surgeries, Holt – a well-known market town and Melton Constable- a rural but vibrant village.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with excellent communication skills who can work autonomously and as part of a team.

Desirable knowledge and skills:

  • Phlebotomy qualification
  • Knowledge of QOF
  • Able to direct and co-ordinate programmes of care, working autonomously and collaboratively, recognising when referrals are required
  • Able to relay clinical information and maintain accurate, comprehensive consultation records
  • Organised, friendly, approachable, self -motivated
  • Adaptable and comfortable dealing with changing priorities and a team player
  • Work within level of competence
  • Able to work in a changing environment and implement change when applicable to provide high quality health outcome

Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • When trained, undertake venepuncture
  • Carry out baseline observations such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature and pulse rate, recording findings accurately
  • Ensure specimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation
  • Provide support during minor operations as required
  • Ensure all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session
  • Ensure fridges are cleaned routinely in accordance with guidance
  • Ensure clinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins replaced in accordance with the organisation’s IPC policy
  • Provide care to meet the needs of patients
  • Support patients to adopt health promotion strategies that encourage patients to live healthily and apply principles of self-care
  • Adhere to practice policies and procedures

Pay: £13.00-£13.14 per hour
