Description Responsible for providing administrative and clerical and medical support to the nursing and clinical staff. Assist staff, clients and visitors with performing on site medical screening specifically for COVID 19 as a means of prevention of spread within the facility. Essential Functions: 1. Helps patients, clients and visitors by providing information, services and assistance. 2. Assist with arranging patient/client appointments and referrals per physician orders and clinic staff. 3. Assist client/caregiver in compiling information and completing application for other services and public assistance. 4. Administer medical COVID-19 screening questionnaire for anyone entering the facility. Monitor and record on questionnaire temperature and oxygen saturation levels. 5. Report cases of positive and negative responses according to established protocols while remaining cognizant of appropriate reporting requirements (State, Local and Federal). Requirements are established per site. Communicate findings directly to Nursing Supervisor. 6. Don and doff PPE (personal protective equipment) as required within the protocol for performing medical screening. 7. Verifies clinic patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history and confirming purpose of visit. Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests: taking blood pressure, weight, temperature and reporting patient history summary. 8. Assist with word processing, typing forms and photocopying as requested. 9. Maintain supplies and order as needed with department director's approval. 10. Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards; follow all policies and procedures of the Osceola Council on Aging as well as federal, state and local requirements. 11. Other duties as assigned to include assisting in times of disaster as needed. Hours of work: full-time 40 hours per week. Office is open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Flex time may be available with supervisor's approval. Position may require some evening or weekend hours for special projects. The employee must be able to work off-site at any of the locations in the planning and service area. Requirements Education/Training: High school diploma or GED. Requires ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Licensure: Medical Assistant Experience: One or more years of experience in Social Work, Social Services or Aging programs preferred. Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Must possess valid Driver's license and reliable transportation. Interpersonal Skills: Must have excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills and the ability to work with a wide variety of groups and individuals. Technical Skills: Sufficient skills to be able to read and write effectively. Mental Abilities: Knowledgeable and competent to perform all essential functions. Sensory Requirement: Ability to visually and audibly perform all essential functions. Physical Requirement: Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Sufficient mobility and strength to move about the facility and the community. Must have correct vision and hearing to the normal range. This position may require bending and lifting subject to specific physical requirements and working conditions.
