The PARKWAY FITNESS AND RACQUET CLUB is adjoined to our two (2) hotel properties - Sheraton Parkway Toronto North and Best Western Parkway hotels. The fitness club offers complimentary access to guests of both hotel properties, in addition to selling corporate, family and individual memberships, along with squash leagues. The club offers two (2) swimming pools - 1 indoor and 1 seasonal/outdoor. Seasonal patio offers food & beverage, plus a licensed bar.
We are currently recruiting for a part time Health Club Attendant to join this team and be available to work two (2) shifts per week, with opportunity for additional shifts to cover vacation and/or sick calls for other staff members from time to time as may be requried.
The duties of the Health Club Attendant include, but are not limited to the following:
Duties and Responsibilities:
*Greeting guests and members, answering telephone, and assisting Club Manager.
*selling a variety of memberships inclusive of regular, monthly, annual and day passes
*Create bulletin boards/flyers to keep members informed
*Resolve billing issues – identify issue, contact member, follow up
*Print denied accessed/billing issues/freeze/expired CC report weekly – ensure everything is updated and correct
*Assist Accounting personnel in membership maintenance
*Inform manager of office supplies/gym equipment that need re-ordering/fixing
*Call all expired CC members – weekly
*Resolve member complaints/inquires
*Create month end sales and commission report
*New contract maintenance: check in Aphelion, check all folders for proper documentation
*Print expired memberships report at month end and ensures all deleting memberships are sent to accounting
*Create refund forms, letters, or other documentation as requested by the manager
*Assist staff members with anything they need help on – finish incomplete forms/billing inquires/enforcing club rules
*assist with towel supply - laundering and folding as may be required
*Document and create list for fitness instructor/cleaning staff cheques
*Log daily staff hours
*Maintain and organize all binders
*Resolve any deposit/float issues
*Assist with helping health club cleaners with club cleanliness when required
*Any other duties as may be assigned by the Health Club Manager and/or General Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

*Must have flexibility to work a variety of shifts (hours may vary per season), opening shifts, mid shifts and closing shifts.
*Must be available to work Saturday and Sunday, and holidays
*Must have excellent oral communication skills
*Must be able to process cash/credit card transactions
*Must be able to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially
*Must be computer literate
*Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks
*Must have excellent organizational skills
*Must have demonstrated customer service skills
*Must have ability to work with minimal supervision
*Previous experience in a recreation/fitness setting would be an asset
*Must have (or will obtain) smart serve certification
