DESCRIPTION

Under the immediate supervision of the Health information Management Department Manager, the Health Data Coordinator I performs complex functions necessary to ensure a complete and integrated health record in compliance with Medical Staff Bylaws, hospital policies and procedures, and state and federal regulations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Coursework/Training: Completed a medical terminology class or complete within 1 year of hire
• 1 year of Medical record or related health care experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Coursework/Training: Post high school education that demonstrates the ability to problem solve through critical thinking
• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) - American Health Information Management Association upon hire
