Responsibilities Job Summary The HIM Specialist Level 1 is responsible for analyses and resolution of potential duplicate medical record numbers (MRNs), provider records and corporate numbers. Essential Functions Monitors reports and identifies duplicate MRNs, provider and corporate numbers. Analyzes and resolves issues with MRNs, provider and corporate numbers including potential system affects and system resources. Address urgent issues immediately and informs appropriate users, systems etc. Validates duplicate MRNs, provider and corporate numbers are merged successfully in appropriate systems. Communicates and interacts with internal and external partners on resolution of duplicate medical record/ corporate numbers and provider identifiers. Assists in the development of education and communications content. Participates as an active member of the Analytics Office, Practice Initiatives and Information Technology teams Performs other duties as assigned. Education Bachelor's Degree or 4 years' work related experience - Preferred Associate's Degree or 2 years' work related experience - Required Experience 3 years Electronic Health Records (EHRs), billing, HIM, or registration experience. - Required 5 years hospital clinical, health information management, and revenue cycle departments. - Preferred Licenses and Certifications
