Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the appropriate management of patient records and that data is collected, collated and managed in line with site, state and federal legislative requirements.
You will be responsible for accurate and timely coding of inpatient episodes using ICD-10-AM and ACHI classifications across a varied and complex casemix (including cardiothoracic, bariatrics, orthopaedic, spinal and colorectal surgery).

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Bachelor of Health Information Management or Clinical Coding qualifications from Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA) or equivalent Approved Program
  • Sound and updated knowledge of ICD-10-AM 12th edition, ACHI and Australian Coding Standards 12th Edition
  • Previous auditing experience is highly desirable
  • Proficiency with the Solventum Codefinder
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, patient management systems and digitised medical record solutions
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge and understanding of DRG and activity-based funding
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and effectively manage time to meet deadlines
  • A passion for accurate data and continuous learning.
