Description:

The Health Information Services department currently have opportunity for a part-time Health Information Services Scanning Clerk to join our Eastern (Box Hill) campus. This position is for three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday) 22.5hours/week during business hours from either 8:00am to 4:00pm or 8:30am to 4:30pm.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Scanning paper-based patient medical records using the BOSSnet Digital Medical Record system.
  • Responding to record requests.
  • Answering telephone enquiries.
  • Responding to information requests in accordance with the department’s release of information guidelines.
  • Collecting, scanning and re-directing mail.
  • Performing general department administration duties as required

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills in order to effectively coordinate the various processes and steps involved in the process
  • Excellent organisational skills with a proven ability to prioritise workload effectively and meet deadlines
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with a professional telephone manner, and an ability to clearly and coherently convey relevant information to all stakeholders, both internal and external to Epworth
  • Intermediate working knowledge of the Microsoft Outlook Suite (primarily Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Office)
  • A solid work ethic, and an ability to work autonomously within a team in order to ensure all work is completed in a timely manner
  • Proven high attention to detail and diligence to ensure correct patient information is released at all times
  • Flexibility in a changing work environment with an openness to changing processes and procedures
