Description
DYS is seeking a Health Information Technician 2 in the Bureau of Community Facilities. This position will educate parents/guardians and youth about Medicaid, OhioRISE and CANS. The individual filling this position will be responsible for coordinating and completing CANS assessment. This position is located at the Circleville Juvenile Correctional Facility. Duties include, but are not limited to: Develops, organizes, and monitors Medicaid Pre-Release Enrollment Program (MPREP). Educate youth and parents/gaurdians about Medicaid and OhioRise, Assist in completion of Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) assessment and enter assessment into CANS IT system. Maintain and input information into the CANS process and release tracker spreadsheet. Provide Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) required identifiers by working with families, parole, and outside stakeholders. Ensure accuracy of data in order to produce statistical reports and spreadsheets. Research and respond to inquiries related to the enrollment process. Arrange and facilitate pre-release transition meetings. Work as a team with other DYS Medicaid staff which may involve travel to other faciilities to assist with meetins, CANS assessments, and pre-release transition meetings. Completion of health information technology or health information administration program offered by technical school or university/college which would qualify applicant for accreditation as registered health information administrator (RHIA) or registered health information technician (RHIT). If curriculum did not include training in pharmacology, applicants must also have 1 course in pharmacology. Completion of 90 hr. national association of practical nurses educational services may be substituted for 1 course in pharmacology. Job Skills: Medical records
