What you’ll do at DBH: This position focuses on health information technology and health information administration regulations governing medical record keeping. Duties are as follows: Maintaining medical records by organizing, implementing, and monitoring medical records system; direct and evaluate the implementation of policies & procedures; review to ensure compliance with standards established by TJC, Medicare/Medicaid & ABHS and ensure release of information procedures are followed; provide consultation on medical record issues; compile data and create reports related to medical records Maintains EPIC EHR by entering new information or changes into EPIC; enter client data for admissions and non-admissions; enter data from daily ward census reports; reviews referral data communication from Social Workers & final diagnosis/diagnostic changes and enters into EPIC; send after care notices and updates referral data; enter legal status changes; copy and distribute various EPIC reports Catalog medical reports using ICD-10-CM; review for consistency, completeness, and send notification for missing documents or information Performs basic accounting, data collection, insurance eligibility, process applications for financial assistance, PB coding, financial counselor, PB charge reviews, data integrity, and patient billing. This is an hourly position covered by the OCSEA/AFSCME bargaining unit (Chapter 560), with a pay range of # 29 on the OCSEA Pay Range Schedule. Normal working hours are day shift Monday through Friday. This position is located within Appalachian Behavioral Healthcare Campus at 100 Hospital Drive, Athens, Ohio 45701. Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above, with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter. If curriculum did not include training in pharmacology, applicants must also have 1 course in pharmacology. Completion of 90 hr. national association of practical nurses educational services may be substituted for 1 course in pharmacology.
