The Sanford Regional Technical Center (SRTC) in Sanford, Maine is seeking to hire a long term sub to teach in our well-established CNA training program (Health Occupations). This position will begin on September 2, 2025. The Health Occupations Instructor will create a safe learning environment that encourages student engagement, while effectively delivering the program’s CNA curriculum to prepare students to earn their State license to be a Certified Nurse Assistant and/or pursue post-secondary education in the health field. The successful candidate will possess a desire to work with young people, previous experience training, or mentoring health care workers, and Registered Nurse certification in the state of Maine. This program will work with other programs for interdisciplinary student experiences within the Center.
SRTC enrolls over 700 students from eight sending schools in southern Maine. The eight York County High Schools in SRTC’s catchment area are: Kennebunk, Marshwood, Massabesic, Noble, Sanford, Traip Academy, Wells, and York.
Job Requirements:
Maine certification (#896) and CHRC (fingerprinting)
2 years experience as a Registered Nurse; one year experience in Long Term Care
Highly organized; able to teach students how to become a Certified Nursing Assistant
Positive and enthusiastic demeanor with excellent communication skills
Able to make positive, professional relationships with students, staff and community and work collaboratively in a team environment
Able to maintain effective classroom management and keep accurate student records
Commit the time necessary to prepare students for practical experiences
