Job Title : Health Physicist

Minimum Requirements : A master’s degree in Radiology , Health Physics, Medical Physics, Physics, Radiation Physics, or a related field (or foreign equivalent) and three (3) years of experience in the job offered, Radiation Safety Officer, Health & Safety Consultant, Health Physics & Medical Physics Consultant, or a related occupation.
Job Duties : Assist in the preparation of regulatory documentation for various state and federal radiation generating machine registrations and radioactive material licenses. Support manufacturing and education facilities by ensuring the timely performance of shielding surveys, monitoring dose reports, and creating, maintaining, and updating radiation safety training. Perform leak tests and inventories as required by regulation. Guide and instruct radiation workers in the proper use of PPE, instrumentation, and ALARA concepts. Submit requests for payment to ensure registrations and licenses are renewed in a timely manner. Support Varian’s greater North and Latin America radiation safety program as needed. Perform RAM package receipt and shipping per DOT/IATA regulations. Utilize 10 CFR 20, Nevada Administrative Code 459, California Code of Regulations Title 17, and other state radiation protection regulations as applicable.
Special Requirements: Must have experience and/or academic training with each of the following:
1. Regulatory submissions
2. Use of Detection Equipment
3. Radioactive Materials Shipping
4. Radiation Surveys appropriate for the type of radiation
5. Leak testing of sealed sources

Rate of Pay: $150,800/year
