What You'll Do: The Bureau of Maternal, Child and Family Health is looking to fill a Health Planning Administrator 2 position to manage the Research program for Ohio Department of Health. Join a mission-driven team where you will lead impactful research, program planning, and statewide health initiatives that directly improve outcomes for children and families. Duties include: Program Leadership and Strategy: Develop policies, procedures, goals and performance benchmarks. Oversee grant applications, compliance and federal reporting. Manage and evaluate large-scale public health programs and services. Research and Data Analysis: Direct research studies on program effectiveness, service utilization and health equity. Analyze statewide and county-level health data to identify needs and gaps. Design and implement evaluation frameworks and measurement models. Collaborate with other agencies and departments on joint research efforts. Public Health Program Management: Coordinate child and infant health initiatives, including mortality review systems. Support youth and adolescent health surveys and assessments. Administer advisory committees, training programs and program budgets. Ensure quality assurances, compliance and continuous improvement. Team Leadership and Development: Supervise, mentor, and coach staff members. Delegate daily work, monitor progress, and identify development opportunities. Facilitate team meetings and communicate goals and expectations. Policy, Partnerships & Representation: Serve as a liaison with internal departments and external partners. Contribute to strategic planning, legislative reviews and policy development. Prepare reports, presentations, and legislative testimony. Position Qualifications: 4 yrs. exp. in planning & administering health program(s), with experience to be commensurate with approved position description on file. Or Completion of graduate core program in field of public health, health administration, preventive medicine, social work, nursing or other health-related field, or public policy & management/public administration or business administration AND 12 mos. exp. in planning & administering health program(s), with education & experience to be commensurate with approved position description on file. Or 12 mos. exp. as Health Planning Administrator 1, 65245, with experience to be commensurate with approved position description on file. Or Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
