POSITION DESCRIPTION

We seek 2 enthusiastic and experienced Health Professional to join our vibrant Microbiology team in Macquarie Park.
Hours: Full-time position Monday to Friday 5:00pm – 1:00am, Part-time position Monday, Thursday and Friday 5:00pm – 1:00am

You will be an essential team member, and your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Participating in clinical microbiology setup – including swabs, Gram stains, fluids, urinalysis, faeces culture, mycology, seminal fluid analysis and joint fluid crystal examination
  • Collaborating with other team members to achieve tasks promptly and accurately
  • Working under close supervision by senior staff in conducting complex tasks
  • Interacting with staff from other departments

IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are looking for the following:

  • A graduate with a Medical Science degree or a recognised equivalent qualification or currently completing a medical science degree or a recognised equivalent qualification.
  • Three years’ recent experience setting up all types of microbiological specimens in a clinical microbiology laboratory
  • An understanding of quality control in a clinical laboratory
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to work in a team environment without direct supervision
  • Open to working rostered hour, Monday to Friday, 5 pm–1 am.
  • A hard-working, motivated, highly organised individual with great attention to detail
  • Someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
