About the role

·           An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Scientist to join our laboratory on a permanent full-time basis.

·           The role will include blood film morphology, transfusion and biochemistry.

·           The position will require you to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team.

·           Rostered hours will vary to cover the operational hours of a 24-hour laboratory.

Selection criteria

To be considered for this position, the applicant must have a relevant Science degree. Previous experience in haematology and or blood bank (1-2 years is preferable). General computer skills and venepuncture experience will be highly regarded but not essential.

·        Appropriately qualified – Degree in Medical Science or recognised equivalent.

·        Eligible for professional membership of the Australian Institute of Medical Scientists.

·        Experience in a diagnostic laboratory with Australian industry experience.

·        Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

·        The ability to work in a team environment without direct supervision.

·        An understanding of quality control techniques.

·        Proficient, motivated and highly organised with great attention to detail.

·        Must be able to live and work in Australia on a permanent basis.
