ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Are you passionate about supporting healthy food and physical environments across South Western Sydney?
The Health Promotion Team at SWSLHD is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Health Promotion Officer (HPO) to join the Healthy People Healthy Places team, under the Health & Wellbeing stream. Under this stream, the HPO will primarily be responsible for working on projects around food and physical environments, to enable healthy eating and active living in adults across South Western Sydney.
The HPO will be expected to deliver and / or support on all stages of program planning, implementation and evaluation. The Health Promotion Officer may also be required to work on projects under the Early Years & Ageing streams.

Responsibilities

The purpose of this position is to improve the health of people living in south western Sydney by contributing to Health Promotion programs of work in line with South Western Sydney Local Health District and the Ministry of Health’s goals, principles, and strategies.
The Health Promotion Officer will primarily work in the Health & Wellbeing stream and contribute to evidence based and/or innovative programs of work for population health priorities. The Health Promotion Officer may also work on projects from the Early Years & Ageing stream as required.

The HPO will primarily be responsible for working with the team to:

  • deliver all stages of planning, implementation, evaluation, reporting and sustainability of programs relating to physical and food environments that support health and programs that promote healthy eating, active living and healthy weight in adults.
