Responsibilities

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

This position would ideally suit someone with great customer service skills, with a passion for working with people with a background in clinical/health care.
The working pattern for this role, and the salary, is based on 36 hours per week (3 x 12-hour shifts) over Monday to Sunday, 7.30am - 8.30pm.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure participant welfare throughout their visit with a good level of quality care
  • Ensure participant’s details are correctly identified prior to the examination
  • Maintain the confidentiality of volunteers and staff
  • Obtain blood samples via Venepuncture (training provided)
  • Conduct physical measures to collect data from the participant
  • Conduct study interviews with participants to obtain health information
  • Processing biological samples in the bloods processing room
  • Liaise with the co-ordinating site laboratory
  • Update co-ordinating site laboratory with any issues that have arisen
  • Ensure samples are kept within designated temperatures
  • Ensure all equipment is operating as it should and escalating any issues
  • Ensure all tasks are completed for the smooth running of the day
  • Maintain cleanliness of the imaging centre
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues based at the site and with those at the coordinating laboratory using verbal, written and digital platforms
