BILLINGHAM, STOCKTON-ON-TEES - FULL TIME

Sodexo is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Health and Safety Administrator to provide essential administrative support to our Health & Safety team. This role is critical in helping maintain a safe working environment by supporting those with specified Health & Safety responsibilities across our sites.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks.
  • Confident with Microsoft Excel, data tracking, and report preparation.
  • Skilled in communication, both written and verbal, with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Flexible and self-directed, able to complete projects with limited supervision.
  • Knowledgeable about waste streams or environmental compliance (desirable, but not essential).

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Previous administrative experience, preferably within a Health & Safety or compliance setting.
  • Strong IT skills including email, scheduling tools, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
  • Problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to identifying improvements.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Health and Safety Administrator, you will:

  • Provide administrative support to colleagues with Health & Safety responsibilities.
  • Help develop and update safety policies, procedures, and manuals.
  • Organize team meetings, coordinate audits, inspections, and track corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, and training sessions.
  • Monitor and review safety documentation to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Support the creation of safety reports and contribute to promoting a culture of safety.

This role does not carry responsibility for Health & Safety strategy or policy direction but is essential to ensuring operational safety compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain accurate and organized safety documentation and audit trails.
  • Assist with the coordination of site inspections and audits, tracking outcomes and follow-up actions.
  • Prepare safety reports and monitor compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Support management in developing and improving Health & Safety processes.
  • Contribute to raising awareness of safety standards across the organization.
