We now have an exciting opportunity for a Health & Safety Advisor to join our HSEH team in Perth on a full-time max-term basis until 29 January 2027. Reporting to the Health & Safety Lead - Operations & Corporate, you will support safe and compliant operations by partnering with our Operations and Gas West teams to uplift safety capability, improve Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) performance, and ensure consistent execution of APA’s health and safety systems and processes. This is a hands-on, operationally focused role ideal for someone who thrives in the field, builds strong relationships with frontline leaders, and brings practical expertise in risk, assurance and HSW improvement. Key Responsibilities Build and support line leader capability to ensure safe execution of operational and project activities. Support delivery and continuous improvement of HSW programs, risk assessments, incident reporting, investigations and H&S data accuracy. Coordinate injury management processes, including medical treatment, workers compensation, and return-to-work plans. Facilitate drug & alcohol testing, occupational hygiene monitoring, and compliance with medical and health surveillance requirements. Provide safety insights by interpreting H&S data, identifying trends and highlighting improvement opportunities. Participate in H&S committees, leadership meetings and stakeholder engagements with regulators and unions. Plan and execute assurance activities (audits, self-assessments, close-outs), support the corporate audit program, and communicate regulatory changes and impacts. Your background Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience in Health & Safety, Occupational Hygiene, Environmental Health or a related discipline. Proven experience supporting HSW processes and delivering improvement initiatives in mid-large organisations. Experience working in large, complex, geographically dispersed and continuously operating environments. Strong capability in coaching and supporting line leaders to uplift Health & Safety performance. Background in engineering, mining, oil & gas or heavy industry (highly advantageous). Skilled in audits, risk assessments, incident reporting, investigations and assurance activities. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a proactive, practical and solutions-focused approach to safety.
