OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Health and Safety Advisor to support our safety excellence strategy and continuous improvement initiatives. This role involves working closely with internal teams, conducting site visits, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude and ability to influence.
  • Comfortable leading meetings and working with remote teams.
  • Willingness to travel monthly to sites in the Maritimes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and basic use of Velocity (EHS ERP).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • ASP Construction certification required.
Responsibilities
  • Advise internal teams on safety programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory HSE requirements.
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and support visits at facilities and project sites.
  • Investigate incidents and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Provide expertise on PPE and collaborate with procurement.
  • Support commercial teams during client meetings.
  • Prepare statistical reports and analyze HSE performance indicators.
  • Develop and maintain emergency preparedness and response plans.
  • Manage accident claims and detailed incident reporting.
  • Create and implement HSE policies and procedures.
  • Coach site managers, project leaders, and technicians.
  • Organize training sessions and safety meetings.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
