Link Contracting Services are a well-established business with over 30 years’ experience, the business is continuously growing with new and existing clients, covering reactive & building maintenance, refurbishment and construction work both as Contractor and Principal Contractor with a Head Office in Wigan.
We are looking to recruit a Health & Safety Advisor to assist in the delivery of a managed process for ensuring that we are fully compliant with all H&S legislation, industry standards/corporate requirements, and to provide a safe and healthy working environment for our staff. This position will be based in Wigan Head Office
We are looking for a self-driven individual whose passion is Health & Safety and promoting this throughout the business, is qualified with NEBOSH (or Equivalent) Certification & ideally have some Construction experience but this is not essential as training and support will be given

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • NEBOSH Construction, NEBOSH General Certificate or Equivalent
  • Construction Site Experience
  • ISO 45001/9001/14001 - Desirable
  • Ability and proficient in IT packages, word, excel, power point
  • Good communication skills
  • Desire to develop H&S related knowledge, skills and experience
  • Experience of working in building maintenance / projects, environment
  • Full UK Drivers Licence required

Responsibilities
  • Manage & Deliver HSQE related training including our own ‘Link Safety Passport Induction’
  • Identify and provide the appropriate training and development for staff at all levels to enable them to meet the needs of the business and meet the legislative requirements relating to competence in health and safety in their respective area of operation
  • Support Project and Maintenance site audit & inspections using Safety Culture
  • Manage & input advise into HSQE related information delivered to operatives
  • Provide regular health and safety reports to the respective Senior Leadership Team
  • Investigate & report on accidents, incidents & near misses. Support H&S Manager with major incident investigations
  • Continually review the health and safety management systems and procedures and amend/improve where required
  • Booking of training courses and keeping record of staff training
  • Manage the processes and procedures to maintain our ISO accreditations
  • Maintain CPD - attend events & training.
  • Maintain IOSH status
