ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Pan Pac Forest Products is a fully integrated business and operates as a Major Hazard Facility. As our Corporate Health & Safety Advisor, you’ll partner with divisional Health & Safety Advisors and work across our three key operational areas – Forests, Lumber, and Pulp. Together, you’ll champion health and safety, driving a strong safety culture and ensuring our systems remain robust, effective, and continually improving.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide expert advice and coaching to leaders, supporting them to apply best practice, meet compliance standards, and foster a proactive safety culture
  • Offer leadership support and business advice, and guide health & safety policies, processes, and documentation
  • Maintain, review, and improve the Health & Safety Management System (SMS)
  • Lead projects and initiatives in line with the Company Health & Safety Plan
  • Deliver on key focus areas such as auditing, reporting, KPIs, insights, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee training and contractor management to build capability and consistency across the business

This role is formally delegated as the Deputy Head of Health & Safety, supporting the Head of Health & Safety day-to-day and stepping in during their absence or when they are engaged on other duties.
This role is full-time, Monday – Friday, based at our Whirinaki site located 15 mins north of Napier.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a solution-focused advisor with experience in high-risk industrial environments.

You also have:

  • a relevant tertiary qualification
  • minimum of 3 years’ experience in specialist/advisory health and safety role, preferably in a safety sensitive industrial or manufacturing environments
  • strong interpersonal, relationship and influencing skills
  • in-depth knowledge of the HSWA
  • a solid understanding of the functionality of Office 365
  • proven ability to plan and organise well, multitask and achieve required outcomes
  • the ability to work logically and methodically with good attention to detail
  • excellent written and oral communication skills
  • a strong customer service focus
  • the ability to work with a diverse range of roles and levels in an organisation
