We have an opening for a Health & Safety Field Advisor in our Rocky View office. Responsibilities: Ensure that the Primary’s Health and Safety Program standards and accountabilities are being followed, promoted and upheld with all company employees, contractors, customers, and the public at all times. Be a champion for all HSE programs, procedures, and culture changing activities. Conduct worksite, shop, yard, and office health and safety inspections. Identify deficiencies, opportunities for improvement and develop and implement associated corrective actions. Track deficiencies and associated corrective actions and ensure all corrective actions are completed in a timely manner. Actively coach field crews on safety best practices Research and implement industry leading safety best practices. Maintain electronic records management, system for statics pertaining to reported safety incidents, near misses, associated costs, severity and frequency Participating in the development, distribution and delivery of Safety Meetings Lead and or participate in Incident Investigations, help identify root cause, and aid in the development of appropriate corrective actions. Ensure corrective actions are tracked and completed Deliver relevant safety-oriented training courses. Deliver relevant Health Initiatives. Responsible for orientation development, and conveyance of information to all field employees. Review, sign off, and file all required field, office and shop health and safety documents. Ensure all company fire extinguishers/safety equipment are inspected and have been re-certified annually. Perform Internal COR Audits annually and as required. Actively participate in assigned training and educational pursuits as they relate to the cycle of continuous improvement for the health and safety team. Other duties as required Logistics of Role 80% of this role is strictly field based 20% of this role is office based Qualifications: 3-5 years’ safety experience Experience in a electrical/utility construction setting is an asset Have NCSO certification or OH&S certification. Be familiar with OH&S legislation WHMIS “Train the Trainer” certified A passion for your work and a drive for excellence. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Maintain a valid Class 5 driver’s license Must be able to travel to remote sites. A few qualifications that would help you succeed: ISNetworld experience is an asset Environmental certificate an asset CUSP designation an asset Mental Health First Aid Training This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to Primary’s Alcohol and Drug Policy which includes pre-employment testing.
