REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE):

Demonstratable Essentials:

  • NEBOSH safety qualification and/or, a MSC accredited by IOSH or IISRM, or 10+ years of practitioner experience with an HSE environment.
  • Creation of risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
  • Management of ISO45001 and 14001 standards.
  • Interfacing with the Health and Safety Executive, Natural Resources Wales, local authority, and insurers.
  • Selecting specialist HSE subject matter experts such as DSEAR/EMF/Fire Risk Assessors and Occupational hygienists.
  • Excellence in planning and organising.
  • Excellence in communicating with the ability to liaise and influence at all levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software e.g., Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook etc.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Approachable style, able to gain the respect and trust of team members.
  • Resilience under pressure and a determination to succeed and make a difference.

Desirable and advantageous:

  • Experience gained within a manufacturing and distribution environment.
  • Experience of operating within a multi-site operation.
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Production Director, the Health, Safety and Environment manager will conduit the zero-harm commitment from the senior leadership team through every level of the business. Through an engaging, personable and proactive approach, you will coach, collaborate and empower employees at all levels, fostering positive change towards a safety culture of interdependence. You’ll maintain, develop and cultivate various systems and registers to ensure full legal compliance, risks are mitigated, and accreditations flourish.
Working hours: 37 per week. Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm and Friday 9am-4:30pm.
Working style: Office based.
