Ergon Refining, Inc., in Vicksburg is currently looking for a Regulatory Programs Supervisor. The Regulatory Programs Supervisor position provides leadership, direction, and support to ensure continued compliance with environmental and process safety regulations. The individual is instrumental in advancing the organization towards excellence by driving the continuous improvement of our process safety and environmental programs, plans, and processes.

REGULATORY PROGRAMS SUPERVISOR REQUIREMENTS:

  • High levels of Trust, Humility, Character, Integrity, Resolve, and Respect
  • B.S. degree in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, or related science, required
  • Five years of regulatory compliance experience or related engineering experience in the refining or chemical processing industry, required
  • Requires a self-motivated person that is detail-oriented with excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Excellent technical writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and USCG regulations relating to the refiningindustry
Responsibilities
  • Coach team members on achieving goals and developing necessary skills that deliver results.
  • Provide technical support, leadership, advice, and/or troubleshooting for regulatory compliance with process safety and environmental regulations.
  • Interpret and apply complex process safety and environmental regulatory requirements to refining operations.
  • Monitor and evaluate emerging regulatory requirements for business impact and leadthe implementation of sustainable programmatic solutions.
  • Work to continuously improve our process safety and environmental management systems.
  • Participate in the Management of Change (MOC) process to ensure effective integration of environmental and process safety compliance requirements.
  • Provide ongoing communication and progress reports to management on Regulatory Compliance initiatives including accomplishments, participation, projected activities, and anticipated needs.
  • Facilitate accurate, timely and efficient preparation and submission of compliance reports and plans to local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Provide efficient approaches to complex process safety and environmental challenges (new regulatory requirements, added operational flexibility, cost and complexity reductions, etc.).
  • Maintain a proven understanding of refinery configuration, equipment, process flows, discharge or emission points, associated waste streams, pollution control equipment technology, and emission measurement techniques.
  • Work closely with operations, maintenance, inspection, other engineering disciplines and contractors to ensure that process safety and environmental requirements are clearly understood and conveyed throughout the organization.
  • Serve as a key environmental solutions partner by aligning daily operations with regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Monitor and communicate performance through periodic metrics that reflect environmental health and operational effectiveness.
  • Lead/participate in agency inspections and compliance/enforcement issues as appropriate.
  • Maintain air emission calculations on an ongoing basis for stationary combustion sources, tanks, terminal and loading racks, accidental releases, wastewater, and equipment fugitive emissions.
  • Identify and advise on projects that address process safety and/or environmental risks or add significant value.
  • Collaborate with the corporate Product Stewardship team to support global sustainability initiatives, including greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions calculations and related environmental reporting efforts.
  • Participate as appropriate in industry and trade association workgroups.
