In this role, you will help deliver our Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Strategy and ensure compliance with the Thames Water management system, standards, processes, and procedures.
The role is primarily field-based, with some hybrid working. It will require frequent travel, generally within a specified region but occasionally throughout the wider Thames Water supply area.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AS A HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELLBEING ADVISOR

  • Conducting regular scheduled inspections of Thames Water Utilities Ltd. (TWUL) treatment works, including those listed under COMAH.
  • Liaising with local management regarding HSW performance and promoting HSW initiatives.Providing support, advice, and/or signposting for all matters relating to HSW.
  • Reviewing incident investigations as they arise and, where directed, overseeing or leading investigations.
  • Attending team meetings for operational teams to support the promotion of HSW initiatives.
  • Attending all department meetings and providing regular updates on activities within your operational areas.
  • Working and building collaborative relationships with contractors to review and maintain performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Undertaking fire risk assessments.
  • Performing face fit testing.
  • Delivering HSW training.
  • Undertaking or contributing to ad-hoc HSW projects.
  • Undertaking individual ad-hoc projects as defined by your manager.
  • Performing any other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager.
    Location: Hybrid - multiple locations.
    Working Hours: 36 Hours.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE ROLE

  • A passion for Health, Safety, and Wellbeing, leading by example.
  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—and the ability to communicate with senior business leaders.
  • Self-motivated and able to work as part of a team.
  • Holder of the NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) and a willingness to work towards NEBOSH/NVQ Diploma and Chartered Membership of IOSH.
  • Technical knowledge of a related industry (utilities, infrastructure, or construction) is advantageous, though not essential.
  • Full UK driving license.
