  • Full-time, Fixed Term position until 28/02/26
  • Salary HEW 7 + 17% Superannuation
  • Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University

About The Position
The HSW Coordinator will lead and coordinate Health, Safety, and Wellbeing (HSW) services, engagement, planning, and operations across the College of Vocational Education (VE). Working closely with the RMIT HR HSW team, VE teams, and other Colleges and Portfolios, the role supports OH\&S and HSW committees to deliver safe and positive learning and teaching environments. The Coordinator will ensure compliance with HSW legislation, drive high-quality service delivery, and act as an escalation point for the Manager when needed.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have:

  • Demonstrated management skills with extensive experience in providing high-level support, advice and stakeholder engagement within a large complex organisation.
  • High level knowledge of policies and procedures and demonstrated successful experience in planning and preparation of environments which ensure positive outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and provide leadership, role model the RMIT values and behaviours and act as a change agent within a large organisation.
  • Demonstrated conceptual, planning and organisational skills with the proven ability to lead projects, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a demanding environment.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and negotiation skills including complaint handling, building and maintaining effective working relationships with a wide range of internal and external group for mutual benefit as well as the ability to influence key stakeholders in order to successfully achieve desired outcomes.
  • Proven expert knowledge and application of OHS legislation and regulations and experience in a multi- site environment.
  • Provide management support to the HSW Officer with WIL Placement Due Diligence requirements.
  • Agile and thrives working in a fast-paced, high volume, complex and evolving environment.
  • Outstanding communicator, with the ability to generate authoritative verbal and written reports and messages.
