Position Summary
Reporting to the General Manager of Corporate Services, the Health, Safety and Wellness Supervisor provides subject matter expertise, technical leadership, and guidance to support the organizational health and safety culture. Responsible for promoting, coordinating, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive health and safety management system. Responsibilities include educating and coaching all levels of the organization, program evaluation and enhancement to ensure the achievement of results, employee engagement and compliance with legislation. This position provides supervision and leadership to the Health and Safety Technician, and oversight to contracted support required for safety-related projects and initiatives.
Position Responsibilities

EDUCATION/SKILLS

Post Secondary Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.

- Canadian Registered Safety Professional certification or equivalent or eligible to be certified.
- Alberta Municipal Health and Safety Auditor Certification or eligible to obtain within probation period.
- Current First Aid with CPR certification.
- Incident Investigations Course.
Ergonomic certification or course work.

Five (5) years of experience working in a health and safety capacity with proven knowledge of Alberta Health and Safety legislation. Experience working in a municipal setting or similar environment preferred.

Police Record Check with satisfactory results.

- Clean Driver’s abstract.
- Defensive Driving Certificate completed within the last 5 years.
