HEALTH, SAFETY & COMPLIANCE COORDINATOR

Location: Central Support Office, Kendal
Salary: £28,000-£30,000
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 37 ½ hours per week, Monday - Friday, 9:00am – 17:00pm

Lake District Estates, a family-owned business with a diverse portfolio including holiday parks, marinas, retail outlets, heritage visitor attractions, and residential and commercial properties, is seeking a Health, Safety & Compliance Coordinator to join our central team in Kendal.

KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Proven experience in a health and safety role or similar position.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate Level 3 (desirable).
  • Experience with health and safety management systems (ISO 45001 preferred).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn bespoke systems.
  • Knowledge of the construction and maintenance industry, including CDM 2015, is desirable.
Responsibilities
  • Work with health and safety representatives and external consultants to develop and maintain health and safety policies in line with legal requirements.
  • Centrally coordinate health, safety, and compliance monitoring across the business, ensuring alignment with best practices.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Prepare reports on health and safety performance, offering actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • help deliver health and safety training to employees, promoting best practices across all sites.
  • Stay updated on changes to legislation and industry standards, ensuring ongoing compliance.
  • Collaborate with teams across the business to champion a proactive approach to health and safety.
