QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in a Health & Safety Coordinator or similar position; agricultural or industrial sector preferred.
  • Understanding of the Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA).
  • HR experience or exposure to human resources processes is an asset.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to deliver training and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license and ability to travel.
Responsibilities

Health & Safety

  • Actively participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC).
  • Develop and implement safety programs tailored to agricultural, trucking, and retail operations.
  • Train employees on safe work procedures, and emergency protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, training, incidents
  • Maintain compliance with Ontario Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
  • Track and maintain safety records and training logs.
  • Promote a safety-first culture by actively engaging employees and supervisors in continuous improvement.

HR Support

  • Assist with employee onboarding and orientation, including health and safety procedures.
  • Support return-to-work programs and workplace accommodation processes.
  • Help communicate HR policies and procedures across departments.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all employee matters.
  • Collaborate with HR on employee communications related to safety, training, and compliance.
