Role: H.S.E.Q Advisor
Schedule: Mon – Fri 9am – 5.30pm
Work location: Given the nature of the role travel between our branches in Republic of Ireland will be a requirement but the candidate can select any of the following six locations as a base: Dublin (Rathcoole); Galway City; Limerick; Cork (Tivoli); Waterford or Portarlington
Contract: Maternity Cover

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of NEBOSH General Certificate qualification or equivalent.
  • Must have quality auditing skills for process audits.
  • Awareness of ISO 9001, 14001, 18001 an advantage
  • Background in hire industry, logistics, warehousing or construction an advantage.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office and PC systems for reporting purposes. Willing to undertake further training as appropriate
Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

Provide expert knowledge, advice and support in relations to all aspects of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality across the HSS Hire business. Responsible for advising and monitoring compliance on all legislative regulations, accreditation standards and company policies and procedures, following their induction – together promoting and creating a positive HSEQ culture and workplace environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as the HSEQ advisor as required by the business.
  • Help coach managers to complete risk assessments and identify where high risk is evident and help managers to plan actions to lower the risk where possible;
  • Investigate with managers the cause of serious accidents and incidents and help managers put preventative actions in place, also help review risk assessments after serious accidents;
  • Complete customer incident investigations;
  • Develop localised initiatives to drive HSEQ standards;
  • Support team members as and when is deemed necessary;
  • Visit all HSS locations to complete audits.
  • Attend sites when necessary to meet customers on HSEQ issues.
  • Make summary reports after audits with action plans back to line managers
  • Issue weekly reports to Managing Director on HSEQ issues and initiatives.
  • Attend regional meetings to drive HSEQ standards and best practice;
  • Proactively drive the companies approach to Serious about Safety and lead from the front.
