Advanced technologies enable us to process a large variety of scrap and dross and reduce the amount of residual waste from aluminum manufacturing that would otherwise end up as landfill. Responsibilities Manage all aspects of site employee health, safety and environmental compliance and continuous improvement to advance Real Alloy HSE programs, processes and systems. The position is part of the site leadership team and is responsible for activities and actions that maximize the safety of all employees, contractors and visitors and leads proactive adherence to environmental performance standards. Lead the development and improvement of site procedures, control plans, standard work and data collection methods for HSE management programs. Review, maintain and comply with all environmental permits and related recordkeeping and documentation requirements, including air, water and waste. Provide technical oversight, guidance and communication on issues involving and impacting compliance with interpretation of local, state, and federal HSE regulations to site. Maintain up-to-date knowledge in all aspects of HSE regulations and compliance reporting. Prepare and submit all required reports and permit applications to regulatory agencies including but not limited to air, water, solid/hazardous waste and other applicable environmental requirements. Communicate with and maintain professional relationships with Local, State and Federal regulatory agency personnel. Co-Chair of the facility Safety Committee. Lead monthly plant safety meetings and safety walk-arounds. Develop and assist supervisors with content and implementation of monthly department safety meetings. Development and delivery of training programs to ensure compliance with Company HSE requirements and Local, State, Federal and Provincial regulations. Depending on experience - the salary range is $95-125K plus bonus and full benefits package offerings (view our website for details) Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university (preferably science, engineering or HSE) and five (5) plus years of related experience. Must have substantive knowledge of environmental regulations, including Title V air operating permits, solid/hazardous waste, NPDES stormwater program and applicable ILEPA regulations. Experience with HSE Management Systems and HSE risk assessments. Background in continuous improvement tools and techniques such as six sigma / lean sigma. Experience with computer applications, such as spreadsheets, word processing documents, databases, email programs and electronic data reporting systems, e.g., Microsoft applications and SharePoint. Possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
