Description
The Health & Safety Coordinator, focusing substansially on fleet management, is responsible for ensuring that ADAPTIT’s technical operations, projects, and fleet activities comply with all applicable health, safety, environmental and fleet regulations. This role develops, implements, and monitors safety programs, conducts audits and investigations, and supports a strong organizational safety culture. Additionally, the Coordinator oversees fleet operations, ensuring vehicles are safely maintained, compliant, and efficiently used. Implement and monitor health and safety policies and procedures across all operational and field areas, where needed, ensuring alignment with company standards and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections (office, field sites, and fleet assets) to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Develop, deliver, and evaluate health & safety training programs to enhance safety awareness among employees, subcontractors, fleet operators, partners and clients. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses involving fleet vehicles, preparing comprehensive reports with root-cause analysis and recommendations to prevent recurrence. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to vehicle maintenance, inspections, safety incidents, corrective actions, and regulatory compliance. Collaborate with procurement partners and maintenance teams to ensure vehicles are properly equipped with all required safety equipment and maintained according to standards. Stay updated on relevant legislation, standards, and best practices related to occupational health, safety management, and fleet operations. Promote and support a strong safety culture through continuous communication, reporting, toolbox talks, and safety awareness initiatives. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety or a related field. Approx. 3-5 years of experience in health and safety management preferably focusing on field/logistics/fleet operations. Strong understanding of field operations and fleet safety regulations and best practices. Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, and training programs. Proven ability to analyze and interpret safety data and incident reports. Proficiency in fleet/asset management systems and related software. Possession of relevant certifications in health and safety and/or fleet management. Collaboration with internal and external partners, and providers related to H&S and fleet ops. Attention to detail and strong organizational, plus analytical skills. Ability to work independently and take initiative in promoting safety improvements. Valid driver's license.
