Description

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Health and Safety Manager will primarily assist in the development, delivery, and maintenance of the Corporate Health and Safety Program. You will work in partnership with senior management to support health and safety initiatives within the company.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Health and safety diploma/certificate with background in Health and Safety management.
  • Certified in Standard First Aid and MOL JHSC Core Training.
  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) Designation and/or Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC) Designation and Certified Ergonomic Specialist (CES) Designation are considered strong assets.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations.
  • Experiencing working with Joint Health and Safety Committees.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work effectively alone and prioritize.
  • Must be a highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail.
  • Enthusiasm for challenge and new initiatives are prerequisites.
  • Exceptional multi-tasking abilities and prioritization skills.
  • Strong understanding of WSIB procedures.
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Ability to ensure confidentiality and understand the information that cannot be passed along to others.
  • Strong customer service mindset.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
  • A valid Class G driver’s license with a clean abstract and access to a personal vehicle is required.
  • The successful candidate will also be required to submit a satisfactory criminal background check prior to the commencement of employment.
