Carbon3 is looking for an experienced SHEQ Manager with a strong background in the construction industry to ensure that health and safety standards are upheld across both our internal operations and external sites. This role is crucial to maintaining a safe working environment for all project stakeholders, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • NEBOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification with a strong focus on construction.
  • Proven experience working in the construction industry in a Health & Safety role.
  • In-depth understanding of construction RAMS, accident reporting, and industry-specific H&S regulations.
  • Experience conducting H&S audits and inspections across multiple construction sites, with a strong grasp of ISO 45001.
  • Hands-on experience managing or supporting ISO audits, compliance, and certification processes.
  • Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations and other relevant legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with site teams, contractors, and clients.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for construction projects, ensuring compliance with industry safety standards and ISO 45001 requirements as well as ISO 9001 and 14001 requirements.
  • Oversee the reporting and investigation of accidents and incidents on-site, ensuring root causes are identified, corrective actions are taken, and findings align with ISO standards.
  • Create and manage RAMS for young persons involved in construction projects, ensuring their safety in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Handle Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs) for project tenders, ensuring H&S compliance to meet client, regulatory, and ISO standards.
  • Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits across multiple locations, identifying potential risks, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Lead internal and external audits to uphold ISO certification, working with senior management to ensure continual improvement.
  • Provide ongoing H&S training and guidance to site teams, ensuring all personnel understand safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
  • Stay updated on construction-specific health and safety regulations, advising senior management on necessary changes or improvements to company policies and H&S compliance.
