We are seeking a motivated and experienced Safety Manager to join our team, based out of our Belleville and Detroit offices. The Safety Manager will be instrumental in fostering and ensuring a safe working environment for our employees, subcontractors, and partners while promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Responsibilities: As the Safety Manager, you will: - Develop, implement, and oversee safety programs, procedures, and policies in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. - Conduct jobsite safety audits, inspections, and hazard analyses for utility construction projects. - Lead investigations on incidents, near misses, and injuries to determine root causes and implement corrective actions. - Provide classroom and field-based training on safety topics to employees and crews (small and large groups). - Maintain all safety certifications, training records, and compliance documentation. - Serve as a resource to project teams regarding safety planning, risk assessment, and accident prevention. - Monitor, analyze, and report safety performance metrics to company leadership. - Collaborate with project management and field teams to ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and client-specific requirements. - Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in occupational health and safety. Requirements Required Qualifications - **2–5 years of construction safety experience**. - Safety certifications and/or formal safety education. - Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (no major infractions). - Ability to successfully pass federally mandated drug and alcohol testing. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Preferred Qualifications - **2–5 years of utility construction safety experience**. - Bachelor’s degree (safety, construction management, engineering, or related field). - Residence within the Metro Detroit Area. - Experience delivering safety training programs to both small and large groups.
