ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGER

A leading innovator in the cosmetics manufacturing industry is seeking a skilled and experiencedEnvironmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead all EHS-related functions at its Scarborough-based facility. This role plays a key part in ensuring a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment for all employees—particularly within a production setting.

The EHS Manager will develop policies, lead training initiatives, conduct inspections, and ensure all practices meet provincial and federal regulations. This is a leadership role suited for someone passionate about health and safety and ready to make an impact.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree in a relevant field and a recognized certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
  • 8+ years of experience in EHS within a manufacturing or supply chain environment
  • 2+ years of experience in a management role
  • Certification in Environmental Health and Safety is an asset
  • Experience in the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) industry is considered a strong asset
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation and hazard assessment/control
  • Proven ability to lead culture change and collaborate across departments

    - Strong communication, training, and organizational skills

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures in compliance with applicable legislation
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure site safety and regulatory compliance
  • Lead training sessions for staff on health, safety, and environmental protocols
  • Investigate workplace incidents and near-misses; prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to integrate safety into daily processes
  • Perform hazard assessments and implement proactive risk mitigation strategies
  • Track safety performance metrics and lead continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure environmental monitoring and compliance with environmental standards
  • Coordinate required certifications and training updates for all employees
  • Support client audits and inspections relating to EHS standards

    - Advise senior leadership on EHS trends, regulatory changes, and best practices
