Established for over 45 years and now one of the largest engineering and fabrication companies in the UK, WEC Group Ltd requires a professional Health & Safety Manager to join our team at our headquarters in Darwen, Lancashire.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and motivated Health & Safety Manager, who can improve the Health and safety systems and culture within a dynamic and rapidly expanding engineering company.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE

  • Qualified to NEBOSH as a minimum.
  • Knowledge of CDM requirements is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to lead improvements.
  • Must have held a similar position previously.
  • Previous health & safety experience within an engineering environment is beneficial.
  • A high level of IT skills, including Microsoft word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • A full UK driving licence.
Responsibilities
  • Ensuring the company is compliant and up to date with all relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Ensure the company remain compliant to ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015.
  • Lead and provide advice on any health & safety improvements to ensure the safety of all personnel and visitors.
  • Conduct audits throughout the group in line with current accreditations.
  • Conduct toolbox talks throughout the group.
  • Conduct health & safety awareness training when required.
  • Host external accreditation audits.
  • Conduct safety inspections throughout the group.
  • Coordinating risk assessments and ensuring they are current and effective within all departments.
  • Monitor the accident and incident system and make improvements if needed.
  • Continue to improve the health & safety within the company.
  • Control and investigate any Health & Safety claims or complaints.
  • Provide regular updates to top management of any key improvements and issues.
  • Travelling between sites within the WEC Group will be required.
  • Any other health & safety related duties as and when required.
