  • Proven experience in a similar health & safety role.
  • IOSH certificate or equivalent experience (essential).
  • NEBOSH certification (desirable).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Confident in delivering health & safety inductions and updates.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, working effectively across departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Head of Health, Safety and Facilities, the Health & Safety Officer will play a key role in ensuring a safe working environment by maintaining and updating relevant documentation, conducting risk assessments, and supporting compliance with health and safety legislation. This is a hands-on role that requires working closely with multiple departments, including production, warehouse, quality assurance, and site services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct and review risk assessments to maintain a safe workplace.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and company policies.
  • Inspect production equipment and processes to identify potential hazards.
  • Support department managers in implementing health & safety protocols.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in workplace safety.
  • Conduct monthly fire checks, Legionella temperature tests, and collate workplace monitoring data.
  • Deliver health & safety inductions for new employees.
  • Oversee contractor safety on-site.
  • Assist with the safe handling and movement of hazardous substances.
