Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Health & Safety Representative to join our construction team. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices across multiple job sites. The successful candidate will work closely with field staff, supervisors, and management to promote a strong culture of health and safety and to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in construction health and safety (flooring/coatings industry experience considered an asset).
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and best practices (e.g., OSHA, WSIB, ISO standards).
  • Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (CRSP, CHSO, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence safe work practices at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and reporting skills.
  • Ability to travel to job sites as required.

Responsibilities
  • Implement and monitor company Health & Safety policies, procedures, and programs across all job sites.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with local, provincial/state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Lead toolbox talks, safety orientations, and ongoing training sessions for employees.
  • Maintain and update hazard boards, safety documentation, and incident logs.
  • Investigate accidents, near misses, and safety-related incidents, providing root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
  • Support project teams in developing and implementing job-specific safety plans.
  • Act as a point of contact for workers regarding safety concerns and promote a safety-first culture.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, field managers, and senior leadership to continuously improve safety performance.
