We seek a certified Health & Safety Specialist (non-management) to provide expert advisory support for FIFO camps, heli-ports, ice roads, and mining logistics in challenging environments like the Arctic and NW BC. This individual contributor role ensures compliance, risk mitigation, and safety culture enhancement without direct people management. Key Responsibilities Conduct site safety inspections, hazard assessments (JSA/SWPs), and audits at remote camps/heli-ports/ice roads; identify risks in aviation logistics, heavy equipment, and extreme weather ops. Develop/review safety documentation: SOPs, emergency plans, training modules; ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC, OHS Canada Labour Code, CARs, WHMIS, TDG. Deliver toolbox talks, safety orientations, and specialized training (fall protection, confined space, ice road hazards) for non-managed crews. Investigate incidents/near-misses; perform root cause analysis, recommend corrective actions, and track via reporting systems. Support contractor/client safety alignment; audit third-party compliance without supervisory authority. Maintain safety metrics/KPIs; prepare reports for leadership on trends, audits, and continuous improvement. CRSP, Canadian Registered Safety Professional or equivalent (NASP, CSP); 5+ years SME (subject matter expert) experience in remote resource/aviation/construction/camp safety. Deep knowledge of OHS regs (BC/Alberta/Nunavut), COR certified programs, incident investigation. Mining/construction/remote experience; valid OFA3/Advanced First Aid, WHMIS, valid driver's license; physically fit for site work. Proficient in MS Office, safety software; strong analytical/reporting skills.
