GENERAL SUMMARY

This position reports to the EH&S Manager and is responsible for supporting all on-site health and safety activities as they relate to developing, implementing, and maintaining relevant policies, programs, procedures, and training regarding all applicable state and federally mandated regulations. Provides safety and facilities support/guidance for all areas of Operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation is preferred with 3-5 years of Health and Safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, or a minimum of 5-7 years of Health and Safety experience in lieu of certification
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as governmental regulations, safety rules, and procedure manuals
· Ability to speak effectively before groups of management and/or employees regarding Health and Safety topics
· Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in a clear and concise manner
· Interact effectively and possess the ability to communicate with all levels of employees
· Be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies
· Accept direction
· Maintain confidentiality of information
· Act with a sense of urgency
· Ability to prioritize and work multiple projects simultaneously
· General understanding of EPA & TCEQ laws and regulations
· Valid driver’s license with a clear driving record
· Competent IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, and internet
· Bilingual in Spanish a plus
· Prior First Responder experience a plus

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Applicant must pass a background check and Pre-Employment Physical. Must be able to wear a hard hat, steel-toed boots, and a full-face respirator while inside the facility. Must pass a pulmonary function test. Will assist Environmental Manager as needed.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
