QUALIFICATIONS

  • First Line Underground Mine Supervisor Underground Common Core or equivalent provincial designation
  • Certified Safety Professional designation is considered an asset
  • Completion of Practical Loss Control Leadership Program is an asset
  • Proficient knowledge of industry legislation (OHSA and supporting regulations, ESA, MTCU Core Modular Training Programs)
  • Proficiency with computer programs (MS Office, Outlook) and good working knowledge of computerized systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Positive and collaborative with strong client/customer service skills
  • Demonstrated initiative with the ability to stay organized, prioritize and work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel as required

Responsibilities

Currently Technica is seeking a motivated individual to join our growing team as a Health & Safety Training Advisor in Sudbury, ON. The role of the

Health & Safety Training Advisor is to work closely with line management, JHSC representatives, site trainers, project coordinators and the client to ensure safety and training needs are being met. The key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Performing audits of safety and training systems at the project sites and providing guidance to correct deficiencies
  • Providing leadership and technical expertise to the project team regarding legislation, standards and internal areas related to safety and training
  • Overseeing emergency response systems
  • Establishing and monitoring site trainers and training programs
  • Auditing JHSC effectiveness and maintaining compliance with legislative requirements
  • Monitoring effectiveness of incident investigations and corrective actions
  • Facilitating or conducting workplace risk assessment and controls
