Department Overview Current unit 14K Adult Bone Marrow Transplant will be transitioning to VPV Medical Oncology. Our primary teams are Medical Oncology/Cellular Therapy: Stem cell Transplant, Immune cell therapy including CAR-T and TIL, Gene Therapy, Chemotherapy, GVHD, pain crisis, failure to thrive, end of life. The new unit will have 60+ beds to expand our exceptional care for our patients. Function/Duties of Position The Health Unit Coordinator is part of the health care team and utilizes her/his knowledge and skills to support and enhance nursing area/unit operations throughout OHSU. The Health Unit Coordinator maintains an accurate and current profile of patients and health care team members in multiple locations: census boards, call lists, and in the integrated heath record. The Health Unit Coordinator serves as a communications specialist, providing clerical and reception skills, data collection and computer entry. The Health Unit Coordinator provides problem-solving and performance improvement assistance on the unit. Required Qualifications High School diploma or GED; One year of clerical experience in a health care environment; reads, writes and speaks fluent English; basic knowledge of medical terminology, basic math skills, demonstrated computer skills, demonstrated customer service skills, ability to prioritize and multi-task OR Equivalent combination of experience and training that would provide above referenced knowledge, skills and ability.
