Description Job Title: Health & Wellness Coach I or II Status: part-time Hours: swing shift 5am-9am: Tues, Thurs, and Fri, additional hours available Wage: Level I - starts at $13.85/hr, Level II - $16.00/hr, depends on experience Reports to: Health & Wellness Director Probation: Subject to a 12-month introductory (probationary) period POSITION SUMMARY: The Health & Wellness Coach (HWC) provides fitness instruction and safety to all members through scheduled orientations and ongoing opportunities to teach and reinforce updated exercise techniques and general fitness principles. The HWC enforces rules and policies of the YMCA Health Center and the Association in a positive and consistent manner. They will take responsibility for the condition and cleanliness of the Health Center and all equipment. The HWC provides members with a quality fitness experience that reflects a positive image of the YMCA. The Missoula Y is an equal opportunity employer. Educational background and/or experience in strength training and general fitness and/or group exercise instruction. Communication, leadership and motivational skills. HWC II: Aditionally, employee must be either a Certified Personal Trainer or a certified Group Exercise Instructor. Current CPR certification and basic first aid training. Working knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology and safe exercise technique.
Responsibilities
Provide fitness instruction and safety orientations to members while reinforcing exercise techniques and general fitness principles. Maintain the cleanliness of the Health Center and ensure all rules and policies are consistently enforced.
